The Way That I Take
Job 23:10
I. Key Idea
We all have our own ways that we need to go. Job also had his way of life. He was a righteous man who devoted his life to worship God. However?A something he didnt expect to happen has happened to him; he had to stand a harsh storm in his life. One day?A he lost all of his wealth that he has accumulated throughout his life?A all of his servants died?A and even his children died. It was nothing but a tragedy for him. In the midst of such tragedy?A Job went before God with humble heart?A confessing that he was born with nothing in his possession?A thus will depart this world with nothing. He also confessed that God has given him everything he had thus it is natural right for God to take away what He has given. He tore his clothe?A shaved his head?A and worshiped God.
What is the way that you are going now? Satan is attacking us today the same way he did 4?A000 years ago to Job. The whole world left Job but he didnt leave from the side of God. Job believed that God will make him stand again and again as long as he stays by the side of God. Therefore?A we Christians must go our way until the day we are refined like a pure gold.
II. Small Group Discussions
1. What is the first thing you do when you encounter a trial?
2. How would you think of God if a harsh trial keeps going on for long time without any guidance and help from God?
3. Do you complain to God when you face unbearable trial? Would you think about committing suicide? Would you be able to endure through the trial? Would you have hope? How would you overcome such trial?
4. If you ever felt grateful for a trial?A what was the reason to be grateful?
