God?A We Meet at Gilgal
(Joshua 5:1-12)
Ⅰ. Key Idea
Circumcision expresses the Gods presence?A protection?A and promises. God had done circumcision to the nature at the Garden of Eden which was the fruit of the tree of knowledge. God had done circumcision to the nature through rainbow during Noah period. God had done circumcision to the nature by the stopping sun and moon and incident of Gideons sheep hair during period of Joshua.
If you look at todays scripture?A you can see that God who had been giving circumcision to the nature?A had given circumcision to the Israelites people. Gilgal is not a destination spot for traveling but more likely a battlefield where there can be more attack?A a dangerous place and God had done circumcision at this place. God who has done circumcision to the obedient Joshua and Israelites?A and had announced surprising declaration to them and that is their disgrace from Egypt had been washed away from them. It was a great independence declaration which declares not only by the Israels consciousness and mind but actual complete freedom. It was declaring a converted paradigm; a life that is not a subservient slave but a master for your own life; that is not a poor life but a rich life; a life that is full of hope and vision; a lively life. God had told Israelites that He will lead their way as He had declared at the Gilgal and this is our God that we meet at Gilgal.
