Because They Don’t Know Yet
Sea of Grace?A Galilee(II)
Luke 8:22-25
I.Key Idea
Talking about Israel?A we cannot go without saying of the Sea of Galilee. It has a lot to say about faith. Above all?A it is where Jesus left His footsteps.
Jesus preached the Gospel and called the disciples to cross to the other side. On their way across?A Jesus is found asleep on the boat. The storm hits them and their lives are in danger. So very frightened?A they wake up Jesus. And?A Jesus rebukes the wind and calm the storm.
1. When we read story?A what is our focus? If we focus on the storm?A what would be our conclusion? The disciple would be very unfortunate. It is so improvable to be hit by such a strong wind?A just when they are on the boat and across the sea. They are so unlucky!! On the other hand?A if our focus is on Jesus?A we could experience God again as our refuge and mighty deliverer.
Where to put our focus makes such a big difference. Fear or peace. Complaint or gratitude. The choice is ours.
2. God alone is sufficient.
When Jesus rebuked the wind?A it just ceased. Why worry? Is not God with you on the boat? What a life?A we are not free from storms even if Jesus is with us on the boat. However?A dont forget the One who can calm the storm. God alone is sufficient.
