◆Take Up Twelve Stones◆
Joshua 4:1-9
Ⅰ. Key Idea
When there is a flood?A not only children and elders but also young men can lose their lives. The only way to escape from tsunami is to run away. Todays scripture is telling us a story where over two million Israelites did not run away from the rapid current of Jordan and were able to safely cross the river. This event is a great achievement for the mankind to be remembered. God commanded twelve representatives of each tribe from Israel to take up twelve stones from the bottom of the river that they have crossed for the remembrance of this event. Then God commanded them to put them in Gilgal?A the first camp they set up about 10km away from the Jordan. Twelve stones will be the testimonial monument that will tell the history of Gods work to flatten the way and provide peace to the Israelites?A to be remembered by generation to generation. Transcending the culture and generation?A we also see the monument with our spiritual eyes.
II. Small Group Discussions
