Because They Don’t Know Yet
Greatest Mistake in One’s Life (1)
(Case of Elimelech) Ruth 1:1-5
I. Key Idea
The Book of Ruth in the Bible?A is the history wrought in the age of Judges. It is the story that Ruth continued to keep her faith in God and got blessing ?A even though in all the depravities in the age of Judges?A The Book of Ruth begins with the descriptions as follows “In the days when the judges ruled?A there was a famine in the land. ”Thus at the starting point?A it sounds week-kneed. Sounding they have come toan ill-omened year.
By the way?A the famine in the contemporary days were not a mere natural disaster?A but was considered to be a judgment of God. Namely?A not a disaster by chance?A but the disaster was willingly brought in by God. Why? That’s because they have left from the God. Such situation is the same with us. Many problems occurring around us when we leave from God are never occurring by chance. It should strongly kept in mind?A that if believers throws away their faith for the satisfaction of their desire of flesh?A a miserable result will sure to follow on you. Elimelech either was not out of example. With all his desire of having better days?A but as he left the home country?A to the gentiles’ country?A what came close to him?A caused the reality fell on him was much more miserable. The result was the misery?A every men in his family died.
Be sure to keep in mind that nothing is different as with us?A as to the situation of our faith. Especially?A do not lose your faith for the reason of your bread i.e. economical pressure. In all temptation or allurement?A we should keep believing in God?A serving Him?A without fail.
We heartily hope?A every believers in this church will be blessed with Lord’s grace to be clever enough to keep believing in God and not to abandon faith for a piece of bread?A and staying steady in the name of the Lord..
