Suffering of the Cross Our Lord Received
Luke 23:33-49
I. Key Idea
The week from Palm Sunday to the day before Resurrection is called Passion week. And the day Christ was crucified is called Good Friday. If we understand who Jesus is and what suffering He received?A we have the strength to persevere our sufferings and can overcome victoriously with thanksgiving heart. In Matthew 16:21?A Jesus told His disciples that He must go through much suffering. Apostle Peter is also mentioning Jesus suffering on the cross is old testament prophesies fulfilled fulfillment. Jesus Christs suffering was for our salvation (Isaiah 53:5?A 1Peter 2:24?A2Corinthians 5:21) and the manifestation of Gods love (John 3:16?A Romans 5:8). Jesus Christ is calling Christians to follow Him (1Peter 2:19-21) and share His suffering (Philippians 3:10). As we follow and suffer with Jesus Christ?A we will be always comforted by God. (Philippians 2:6-11?A 2Corinthians 1:4-5?A 2 Thessalonians 1:5-7?A Romans 8:17-18)
