Because They Don’t Know Yet
The Hand of God
2 Chronicles 10:1-15
I. Key Idea
Our one and only God is an eternal God. In the time of this God?A as a part of eternity?A the year 2012 has started. We hope that our walk of faith may be better?A that we may give more glory to God?A and that more blessings may come upon us than the last year. The fact that we are allowed to have a new year means that God has some intention for us. Therefore?A we can say that we must start this year with prayer.
Today’s text says that the time came when Rehoboam had to rule his people as king. Then he consulted two groups of his aides regarding how he should rule the people. He listened to the group that advised him to rule them harshly and in this way he gave them more sufferings. He foolishly made a big mistake of not consulting God. God was the One whom he really needed to consult.
We make many mistakes and fail many times as we live our life. Failures may become good experiences that lead to future successes. However?A the failure of not praying can cause bad results that is incomparable with those experiences.
Rehoboam?A by the failure of not consulting God?A he got a tremendously bad result?A that is?A he could not have support from God.
I encourage you in God’s Name not to become like this foolish Rehoboam?A but to become believers that live by seeking God’s will more than the last year.
