Because They Don’t Know Yet
Grace of God
Romans 3:23-24
Ⅰ. Key Idea
“Grace” sounds like a very powerless word. The fact that there is no work we can do to attain our salvation makes us feel uneasy?A because we think that for our salvation we have to plan something and do it with our ability. Buddhism and Roman Catholicism emphasized endless good deeds for salvation. People try to appease God’s heart or wash their sin within them by some good deeds. However?A the Bible teaches that there is no way for human beings?A who are sinners?A to return to God but by God’s grace. Only if we admit the fact that we are sinners and repent?A God’s grace brings us life and salvation. The Greek word for confession?A “homologeo” means “to say the same thing”. Salvation comes when we confess with our lips “There is no possibility in me.” or “I am a sinner.” as the Bible teaches. In other words?A when we believe in the salvation that Christ accomplished on the Cross?A not in our deeds?A and make that confession?A we become children of God. Salvation is a gift of God and the heaven is a privilege that God’s children can receive and enjoy. For this reason?A we now call our God?A who accepts us unconditionally?A “Daddy”. This is the very grace of God.
