Jesus Christ the resurrection and life
(John 14:1-14)
Ⅰ. Key Idea
T.S.Eliot in his poem The Waste Land expresses April as the cruelest month. He describes well in this poem his anxiety about life and death. And the poem is said to represent well the mentality of people in those days?A the emptiness after World War 1. Eliot thought it a great irony that human being had developed their civilization in the pursuit of happiness but it only brought them destruction.
Why is April the cruelest month? Is it not a season life blossoms? The nature wakes up to life in April?A but for human sometimes winter is the season of peace and we would rather stay in it.
We all have to face death sooner or later. Human nature tries to overcome the fate?A but human will is weak and helpless on the day of suddenly attacking calamity. April is Easter month. We all will die once?A but let us remember the resurrection to follow for our Lord has already triumphed over death! Yes?A April is the cruel month because it reminds us the great suffering Jesus endured for us. But let us proclaim the victory He achieved consequently. The triumphant resurrection and life over cruel death let us cry out with joy!
